Major Foresight Reports
Introduction:
Actually I didn’t travel
there because of the restrictions
I used some clever software
to come up with some predictions
What the algorithms tell us
that options are so many
That we need to work
together now or else there won’t be any
It’s just not sensible to
watch the ticking of the clocks
We’re faced with many
choices, a bit like Goldilocks
Too cold:
I saw a land of robots, no
people at all about
It took a lot of head
scratching just to work it out
They had no need for
carbon, so removed it from their land
All that’s left, cloud
memories, and footprints in the sand
Too hot:
In this land folks continue
to burn up fossil fuel
They throw away resources
and life is really cruel
Money exchanged digitally,
there isn’t any cash
Super rich just hide away to
protect their virtual stash
Just right:
This land is full of
beauty, a green and pleasant Earth
Everyone does their duty,
everything has its worth
Really wonderful place to
live, but this is the big twist
Without some immediate
action it never will exist
Executive Summary:
I hope this brief report gives you some
satisfaction
The necessary retort should
be “we need to take some action”
No one person has all the
answers, there are so many courses
Instead of all the bluster,
for a minute hold your horses
Consult, involve educate and
let people have their say
If you lot procrastinate Captain
Hindsight will have his day
It is your responsibility -
Be bold - and not – take flight
Hope Earth’s response will be
not cold - not hot -just right
